Ballarat’s Growth and Diversity

Ballarat has long been a town renowned for its place in history of Australia’s gold rush era. Eureka! Currently, it might be said that Ballarat is experiencing another gold rush, albeit a different form of gold. The rush for property and land in Ballarat is on and so too is Ballarat’s growth in property development (both residential and commercial), population, economy and trade.

Ballarat has maintained a high demand for residential land and property. The ever-changing landscape in Ballarat affirms Ballarat as a preferred location amongst many home buyers, families, and businesses alike.

Development estates such as Lucas (Platinum, Sanctuary, and everything in between), Alfredton Grove, Ballymanus, Winter Valley, Acacia Ballarat, and Pinnacle Estate, to name a few, are poised to ensure Ballarat maintains sustainable future growth. After all, who wouldn’t want to have the benefits of living in a country town nestled between the Daylesford hot springs and Melbourne CBD, whilst experiencing Ballarat’s warm embrace and community spirit.

Ballarat’s community is continuing to grow, not only in numbers but also diversity. Nothing speaks diversity like food, and to date, we have seen Ballarat’s Armstrong Street in Ballarat Central, become the foodie hotspot. The main street indulges one’s desire to satisfy the taste buds for different types of cuisine. From Thai, Mexican, Vegan to Latin and more, all in one street, the hotspot of Armstrong Street is evidence that Ballarat is ripe for continued growth.

Moreover, the local Ballarat Government Hub, currently under construction with an anticipated completion of April 2021, is a further testament to Ballarat’s growth, both in population, service, and economy. When complete, the Ballarat Gov Hub will be home to over one thousand (1,000) Victorian Government workers.

On the public transport front, further developments and improvements to regional Victoria’s public transport is experiencing substantial growth. With V-Line having extended its reach and service capability beyond Wendouree, to now include Ararat and the Maryborough precincts.

All of the above points indicate that the development in Ballarat shows no signs of slowing down. Ballarat’s (nee regional Victoria’s) growth is continuing to be a sign that there is an increasing shift to swap the fast-paced city living for a warmer embrace of a genuine small country city. To say I am enamoured by Ballarat, its community and charm would be an understatement.
